KBDH 91.7 back sooner than expected

Thanks to our very resourceful engineers, and the well-stocked electrical department at the King City True Value hardware store, KBDH got back on the air this afternoon. Thanks to everyone who dropped what they were doing today to help, and apologies to all our listeners in that area who were inconvenienced…

KBDH 91.7 off the air – electrical problems

Our engineering staff reports that today’s storm has created major electrical problems at the KBDH 91.7 transmitter site near San Ardo (southern Monterey County). This has forced us off the air and disrupted other telecommunications services (possibly including other radio stations, 2-way communications, cell phone services, etc) using the same transmitter location. 2:00 PM UPDATE on 2/15/2009: there is significant damage to the electrical system of the building our transmitter is in. It may be difficult to get our hands on the needed replacement parts quickly, since today is a Sunday and tomorrow is a holiday. Our engineers are on the case and we will get things repaired and back on the air as soon as possible.
