Host Jim Emdie presents Kurt Weill’s “Mahagony Songspiel”, the original version of “The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagony.” The Songspiel is currently in a Westedge Opera production in El Cerrito. Also some music from “The Three Penny Opera.” Mahagony contains the popular hit “Moon Over Alabama” sung by nearly every major songster since it was composed from Marlene Dietrich to Bette Midler.
