Carmel Bach Festival concertmaster Peter Hanson leads String Players from the 2012 Festival in Brahms Sextet No.2 in C Major, Op.36 and a movement from Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir di Florence.
Host Joe Truskot will complete the program with pianist Barry Douglas and the Philharmonia Orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s Concert Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra, Op.56; Francesca di Rimini with Igor Markevitch conducting the Orchestra Lamaroux, Paris; and late works of Brahms including pianist Dubravka Tomsic performing selections from Op.118, baritone Christian Gerhaher and songs from Op.121, and the RIAS Kammerchor with songs from Op.104.
